Golf, A good walk spoiled.
-Mark Twain
So Mr Fashionista is off for a day on the golf course and I have to agree with Mr Twain on this one I'm afraid.
I'm not a fan of the game.
All this talk about bogeys and sand wedges (ham & cheese for me please, hold the green stuff) leaves me cold. I don't mind whacking a bucket of balls on the driving range, it is a HUGE stress relief but spending 6 hours tramping after a little white ball which I then hit and chase again is not my idea of fun.
And I really don't fancy becoming a concubine of Tiger Woods either!!!!
The scoring system is insane too, Eagles & Bogeys, double bogeys (yuk) It sounds like a group of schoolboys got together and came up with some names which they thought would be cool AND funny. Bogeys? giggle giggle giggle (Why did the golfer take an extra pair of trousers to the course? In case he got A HOLE IN ONE)
Golf, the sport of Kings and Black Cab drivers. I am yet to meet a black cab driver who doesn't play golf. I am sure they are out there, I just haven't met one.
And who is the bad boy of Golf?
Football has had Roy Keane, Paulo Di Canio, Nicholas Anelka.
Tennis had John McInroe, Cricket had Shane Warne, even snooker has Ronnie Sullivan.
Who does golf have?
Mr Tiger Woods!!!!!
Um..................................... um..................................
What can I say? He has fluffy golf covers! how can he be the bad boy of golf?
Apparently Tiger has now made golf "SEXY"
Oh sweet jesus there is no hope is there?
So while Mr Fashionista is off ruining a good walk with some golf I'm off to enhance a walk with some shopping. I think I win, don't you?
Big Fashionista x x
Passing on the versatile blog award to you!
ReplyDeleteHmm golf...snore!!
ReplyDeleteLuckily my boyfriend isn't into golf, he is however into fishing. And that my friend can be hell. If you buy a fishing mag (Total Crap, I mean Carp) you get a DVD. Yup a DVD with a guy talking about fish.
You could have more fun with the golf thing, change his regular golf balls for exploding ones, hours of fun. :)
I have always quite fancied driving a golf buggy though...
