Nice weather for ducks

If one more person says to me, "Nice weather for ducks" then the chances are they are going to be the last one ever as I will probably rip their head off and carry it around on a stick as a warning to every other person who wants to state the bleeding obvious.
(Hormonal? Moi? say that to my FACE)

Yes it is raining. Ducks everywhere are shaking their bloody tail feathers in delight and I am seriously wondering how I will be wearing flip flops in the summer with these webbed feet I am developing.

(They will go lovely with my tail and third nipple don't you think?)

(erm, ignore that last comment)

I asked Siri when it is going to stop raining and if an iPhone could shrug its shoulders, it would have. (I haz new iPhone, can you tell?)

I really don't like being wet, (keeps straight face) out of all the different types of weather out there, the rain is what makes me bloody miserable, If it's hot, you can cool down, feeling cold? chuck a nice cardie on. If you are in the rain there is no escape, and I HATE having wet feet. I mean really hate it. The rain is only ok if you are watching it from inside a lovely cabin with a fire and someone you love wrapped in your arms. then it is romantic. If you have to set foot outside the door then it is hell.

and me no likey.

What do you think?

Can we blame the Goverment here? I don't remember all this rain before the hosepipe ban can you?  (My garden has never been so green and lush during a drought)

And is anyone else suffering from permanent hair frizz!!!! I know I am.

Let me know

  1. Now I don't mind the rain, you see I can't do hot weather wardrobe, if I was ever to don a maxi dress *shudders* I would look like a clod horse (don't know where that phrase comes from but it pretty much sums up my ungainliness), and I just end up looking as sweaty and crumpled as the linen I tend to go for. So no rain is fine.

  2. Oh I have missed you darling x x

    Welcome back

  3. I was kinda wondering...how do we know that ducks like rain? Has someone asked one? I get that they like water but why would they want the unpleasant feeling of water coming down on their wee duck head? Maybe they dislike it as much as the rest of us.

  4. That is true but you never see a duck with an umbrella do you?

    1. Well, no, but how many duck friendly umbrellas are available?

  5. There are not enough hair products in the world to control my hair when it rains. Maybe I should have feathers.

  6. Thankyou for such lovely words xx

  7. I would like to point out that it has been raining for what? A week? I lived in Glasgow for five years and I swear there were months where it never stopped. I walked to university one day and with an umbrella up I was soaked from the waist down by the time I got to uni. I could have got my combats (it was '99, they were cool then) straight out the washing machine and they'd have been drier than they were then.
But seriously. It's the UK. We've been spoiled with very little rain for ages and now it's actually raining we're all whingeing. There is still a drought. There needs to be 6 months of significantly higher than average rainfall to get to a point where the reservoirs etc are at "normal" levels.
We need the rain. I have no idea whether the ducks like it but we need it. Although I sympathise on the hair front. My sole curly bit (98% of my hair is straight except one corkscrew curl at my temple) is going bananas. I'm just ignoring it- nothing else I can do!

  8. I like in Wales I don't know what it looks like with out rain x

  9. Nearly ran a duck over on Monday night, I didn't stop to ask it if it was enjoying the rain. But it seemed to have more road sense than some humans I know.
