Happy Easter everyone.
What I am asking today is, what does Easter mean to you?
Are you just happy for a couple of extra days off work? Does the true meaning of Easter for you mean swan diving into a pile of Easter eggs the size of dinosaur eggs? Or do you head to church and thank God for giving us his only son?
There are no right or wrong answers here, I am just interested in seeing what people are thinking about, and doing, over these next couple of days.
So let me know, and Happy Easter to you all, whatever you are doing.
Big Fashionista xx
Nothing really. Apart from supermarkets and retailers getting their greedy share on the event. It's gone more commercialised that just an event, a bit like Christmas nowadays.
ReplyDeleteEaster technically should be a huge holiday but it's sorta become just bank holiday ish...just catching up with people and no huge plans...happy easter
ReplyDeleteNothing really, I used to celebrate the religious side of it growing up with my family, but being an adult with my own beliefs and no family nearby to spend the day wtih, it's just another day. Looking forward to discounted chocolate though.
ReplyDeleteChocolate for kids, long weekend with OH at home, this year mostly sniggering as he hobbles around post-vasectomy....(I am mean, but am being extra nice to him to make up for it!) xx
ReplyDeleteI'm Catholic so I celebrate the religious meaning, but it's also a time to get together with family and friends. I may go for the religion side of it but I'm still excited about the chocolate! x
ReplyDeleteFor me it's roast dinners and dinosaur eggs! As a shift worker a bank holiday means nothing to me as our rota is our rota. No extra days off! What about you Big Fash?! What does it mean to you?! X
ReplyDeleteFor me it means covering everyone elses shifts cos they're selfish bastards who cba working over Easter, so I get called in *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI'll be attending Church twice tomorrow for the morning service and the Easter carol concert, however I am also looking forward to being able to have chocolate for breakfast :D x
ReplyDeleteEaster is THE best day of the year to me. I'm a Christian so yes, it really is Jesus' story and means the world! BUT I do like the chocolate bit too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteFor me I just treat it as a bank holiday. Being non religious I have to wonder if the holiday will still be maintained as the law and the country become ever more secular?
ReplyDeleteWe have an egg each but don't go over board. We have an egg hunt (2 small eggs for the children then a medium bunny on the saturday) Sunday for me is about the big roast dinner we share in the late afternoon. Just being thankful really. I say my own prayers at night as usual
