Wise Words.

We all have sayings that we lean on in times of need. Some of us have them tattooed on our body, (I have Carpe Diem tattooed on my back) while others keep them close and look at them when they need strength.

Mine is,

"It will be okay in the end, and if it's not okay, then it's not the end"

It works for me.

What motto or words of wisdom do you like?

Let me know.

  1. "Be a mountain person."

My mentor at my teacher training collage talked about how you could be a mountain person, someone who aims high, reaches for the stars. Or you can be a valley person, someone who is happy where they are, and doesn't want to go anywhere else.

I thought it silly at the time, it was at our graduation ceremony, but now I'm coming to the end of my first year of teaching I find myself saying it almost daily. For me its about raising to the challenge, aiming to better yourself, and dealing with things that you think are hard.

  2. "This too shall pass"

A reminder that nothing lasts forever. The bad times will pass, so keep moving forward to the good times. The good times also pass, so make the most of them while you can.

I had this tattooed on my arm just before my Dad died last year. I knew what was coming. I look at the words every day, they bring me peace, keep me positive, keep me looking forward.

  3. "The glass is always half full"

I always try to see the positive and be thankful for what I have and not worry about what I don't.

  4. 'Sharing Is Caring'

By sharing information or your time with others, you may have an opportunity to be able to help someone and make their life better...:)

  5. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is one of my favorite movies! That's my favorite quote. This too shall pass is also a good one.

  7. I used to have that scrawled over my school files etc also ''emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our mind'' though it's not a platitude saying. I don't think I do use any...

  8. Love this quote. Fab film. Mine is "what's meant for you doesn't pass you by"

  9. I also use 'This too shall pass' a lot, but my all-time go-to one is 'To Thine Own Self Be True'.

    Good old Polonius.

  10. "The truest measure of life is not in its length but the fullness in which it is lived"
This quote is in the book "Hannahs Gift" which reminds me how precious life is and how much we should treasure it and those around us
