Certain words make me giggle.
I can't help it.
And there is one word that is guaranteed to make me smirk, (ok, fall over laughing)
PHALANGES
Phalanges.
(Sorry, give me a minute to compose myself)
It's a funny word, I just can't help but laugh when I hear it.
Phalanges.
(Giggles like a small child)
But how about you? I've told you my word that makes me laugh, have you got a word that also makes you giggle?
Let me know,

Emphatically always makes me giggle, absolutely no idea why! Also listening to my Mumma trying to say millennium, it normally ends up with an extra 8 syllables ( that word makes me giggle too) and about 12's and countless m's and n's :D
ReplyDeleteOh syllabub makes me giggle too!
Im the same as your mam, millennium (and also aluminium), I gwt stuck on the 'L' and am unable to get the rest of the word out.
DeleteI've always laughed at Moist. Not exactly sure why, but I know loads of people who find it hilarious!
ReplyDeleteUnlike Tamsin, I find the M word GROSS. It's funny, 'moisture' or 'moisturiser' or 'moisturising' are all ok (it'd be pretty difficult to blog about skincare otherwise I suppose), but just 'moist' (barf) on its own - YUCK.
ReplyDeleteFlannel makes me laugh though. And bum. And poo.
Mitten. Oh and phenomenon because I always feel the need to start singing the Mahna Mahna song.

Phalanges makes me giggles purely because of Phoebe in Friends using it as part of her fake name, and when I was young (and naive) I always assumed Phalanges was a rude part of the anatomy...slightly disappointed that it's not haha :P
ReplyDeleteThe word "wee" also makes me giggle. Not like when you say "I'm off for a wee", but more when it's extended to "weeeeee" when you're running down a hill or being pushed high on a swing!
For me its the word Fracking. A serious issue I know, but as soon as the news reporters say the word im smirking to myself.
ReplyDelete"Muffin crumb" - as in the crumb from a muffin. I have no idea why but it makes me crack up! xx
ReplyDeleteGusset...oh and the childish insult "Cranny Bottom"
ReplyDeleteI've recently started studying anatomy because of the course that I do and coming across phalanges was a pretty hilarious moment for pretty much the entire class. Most other bones in the body arn't that funny except for the well known glutimus maximus and of course the humorous. For some reason when used in particular sentences "dank" always gives me a bit of a giggle. Afterall how many things can you imagine that legitimately deserve the description dank? Not many. mostly just used in exaggeration.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, hope you're having a lovely day :)
