A Leap Of Faith, One Year On.

A year ago today, I left East London and moved to Leeds,

and I am happy, so very very happy.

This is what I see each and every day.

I have fantastic conversations with people I have never spoken to before, I say hello to strangers, I SMILE at people, AND THEY SMILE BACK. (and don't steal my handbag)

I am surrounded by people who I love, who love me too and I wake up every morning with a smile on my face, safe in the knowledge that I am living where I was always meant to be.

Moving from London to Leeds never felt like a gamble, to me it felt like I was coming home.

Leeds is my home. Yorkshire is my home.

and one year on, I have not a single regret at making the move.

So if you are considering doing something, taking a leap of faith and don't know whether you will regret it.

I say do it. It could be the best thing you ever do.

It was for me.

What leap of faith have you taken? Have you done anything like move across the country, pack in your job for something completely different or make a huge change?

Let me know, I want to know how it worked out for you.

  1. Wow, that went quick! I'm happy you're happy.

When I was 19 I left my home town, job, boyfriend and everyone else except my dad and brother behind to move a few counties away to work. I cut off all my hair to spite my fucker soon-to-be ex boyfriend. The whole thing was piss scary but so enriching. After a while my dad and brother moved back home, but I stayed and I've lived in a few more counties since then. I find change exhilarating. The best way to prove you can do something is to tell your brain to shut the fuck up and just do it. xx

  2. Never really made any huge changes in my life but I'm so glad that moving up North has worked out for you :) Yorkshire is a wonderful place!

  3. Love this, well done on being brave and making a change for the better. :)
My leap of faith, leaving my fiance (who was becoming increasingly controlling) 4 months before the wedding, moving out into my own flat and becoming myself and very happy. Happier than I'd been for years.

  4. Really liked this sweet little post Kellie :) I've moved a lot, but it never gets any less scary nor easy. The latest big change has been leaving Barcelona to return to the UK, where I was born, where certain beloved members of my family live. I am based in East Sussex, and I am LOVING it. It happens a lot, that I tell people where I've moved from and immediately I get "why the hell would you switch Barcelona for this?!" It's annoying, but I love it here. I love the countryside, I love seeing bunnies running around, I love that if I want some cocktails or a gig I just hop on a train to London or Brighton. It's been massive, bringing my two dogs, my man and myself over here. We are still not settled, but we are happy.
