I nearly didn't write this post, purely because I couldn't look at the pictures I was trying to source without nearly throwing up.

Trypophobia is a proposed pathological fear of objects with irregular patterns and holes. It isn't an officially recognised condition, but you know what, I don't need a sparkly badge to think.

Can any of you look at the below pictures without,

A, Shutting down the page.

B, Shutting down the internet

C, Crying

Genuinely, it isn't just me, is it?

This is horrific. Don't even start me on the photoshopped lotus pod instead of an eye picture. URGH,

So tell me. CAN YOU LOOK?

Or are you like me and possibly suffering from Trypophobia?

Let me know.

  1. I didn't know what trypophobia was - now I just wish I didn't - something disturbing in those images for sure!

  2. It's funny because some of them freak me out to the point where I could actually vomit but others don't, I'm okay with the ones here but there's one where the roof of a mouth is covered with teeth and y stomach is cramping thinking about it. Maybe it's a tooth thing with me? Ughhhhhhhhhhh it's evil.

  3. This is my first time to hear about this kind. Never knew that there are people who can't stand looking at irregular patterns and holes. My cousin is scared at those things too so I guess she has this too.

  4. The second one in particular makes me feel sick to my stomach, I have to agree with you on this one!

My latest post about how I spent bank holiday weekend is now live, check it out here: http://aymielouise.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/a-weekend-in-yorkshire-bridlington.html

  5. OK that made me feel rather ill 😷

  6. I'm the freak, didn't bother me at all! Fascinating! (@ladytubedriver)

  7. I have to say it didn't bother me in the slightest, show me a pair of false teeth and im outta here so quick I would make Usain Bolt look slow x

  8. KELLIE CAN U NOT. I learned about the name of it about two years ago and couldn't believe it was actually a thing (even if it's not officially recognised). Lotus pods are the absolute worst, closely followed by honeycomb - the stuff that bees make, not what's in the middle of a Crunchie bar.

My first experience of it was when I started having periods at 11. I used sanitary towels for about half of that first period but had to switch to tampons very quickly because the towels I had were Always, and they have that honeycomb-like pattern and, when it absorbed blood, just... *retch*

    TMI comment over.

  9. These make me feels sick! Especially the ones in skin, have you ever looked at a lily pod as well? Can't handle it!!

  10. Og my goodness, Kellie, I really wondered what it was that made me feel like this. Google, chicken feathers growing back... That makes me vomit too (that is something that has holes too.) Jesus, I think I need to employ you as my personal doctor!
    Bee xxx

  11. My mum used to have a large dried poppy seed pod or something on her coffee table in the pot pourri and I made her throw it away I couldn't look at it.

  12. The one with the hand!!! Like I can't even!! I need to puke looking at it :( WHAT IS IT!!!

  13. I totally have Trypophobia! Saw a similar photo of the lotus on FB months ago and it left me scarred for life!! I want to scratch all the lumps off!!! I feel like they're on me!!!!!
On the plus side, great to know it's an actual thing x x

  14. The second and third are pretty grim, but I think it's mostly down to the connotations of a weird ass disease or illness rather than the actual shapes that put me off.

  15. I'm totally okay with this!

  16. How odd, I'm totally ok with all of them. But it would be boring if we were all the same

  17. These don't bother me at all....The one with the hand was a little creepy but I'm okay with it :)

The hand one is the worst. I think this stemmed from a facebook post someone shared once about this rare disease ladies could get in the breasts, which was basically nipples covered in holes much like the hand photo *vom* I can't even think about it UGHHGHGHGHGHGHG

  19. I have seen online and have wondered about the 3rd photo. Looks like something is being "oozed" out of the pores of someone's knees? What is this one?

  20. This pos nearly made me sick, skimming those images actually made my stumac flip. I have this and I hat it, can't even explain it. Didn't know it had a name, ugh! The wrse!

  21. that person has on their hand and it made me feel so nauseous but it didn't break me out into a cold sweat like it would with my sister. I do suffer from emetophobia though which is a very different fear. I have also blogged about it before.
