Marketing companies, Advertising companies, pull up a chair, because I have an idea for you for you next sanitary product commercial that I think you need to hear.
At the moment, every advert to do with periods involves the ability to make a piece of bleached cotton suddenly make me forget the agony and pain of my menstrual cramps, takes away my spots and my uncanny ability to go from calm and in control to sobbing over a cow and its calf in about three seconds flat and basically turns me into a superwoman.
Now, lets face it. Unless you are dipping those tampons in either Nutella, (Other chocolate spreads available) or Ibroprofen, the simple act of shoving one of your products up my foof is not going to turn me into a roller-blading, adrenaline junkie who likes long walks and tight clothes, is it?
So listen up advertising agencies. picture the scene.
The woman, (in her 30s) is laying on the sofa, it is not the weekend, her knees are up to her chest and she is rocking with stomach cramps, she has not brushed her hair and the sofa is surrounded by crispy packets, biscuit wrappers and (hang on, let me see what else I am surrounded by) empty cups of coffee. She has dragged the duvet to the sofa and basically at that moment, feels like shit.
Suddenly, you see the look of alarm on her face, UH-OH, she is flooding. (Oh don't flinch, it happens to us all) she doesn't know whether to move or not. Should she do that knees together run to the bathroom, even though it is probably too late? This is a flood of biblical proportion, SHARK WEEK has truly caused devastation. BUT NO. She looks into the camera. The camera pans round, you notice, OH MY GOD YOU NOTICE THAT SHE IS WEARING WHITE PYJAMAS. OH HOLY FUCK, IS THE DUVET WHITE TOO? SHIIIIIIIT, WHO BUYS A WHITE SOFA,
She throws back the duvet and gets up to go to the toilet and there is not a stain or a mark to be seen.
Every woman in the country goes wild. YOU GO GIRL, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WEARING? they ask. It becomes a trending topic for weeks.
A sanitary product that doesn't ruin several bed sheets, pieces of underwear, jeans, every month? ADVERTISING COMPANIES, we do not give a flying fuck about whether we can Roller-blade, horse-ride or travel across the world when we are on our period. but show us that your product stops it from being "Leaky week" and you guys, you guys will have a HOT PRODUCT on your hands.
Ladies, what do you think?

Happy Friday everyone.
This week's Nom or Vom is someone who I am truly in awe of recently. He's far too young for me but I could look at him for hours without even blinking.
Pictures were released this week of Zac Efron on the set of Baywatch and his body looks amazing. There is working out, and then there is, sculpting your body to make it look as if it is made from marble.
I'm exhausted, just looking at him.
Take a look for yourself.
It's getting easier and easier to forget that he was once in High School Musical, isn't it? (God. That sounded really "Daily Mail, like, didn't it?)
So what do we think?
Zac Efron, Nom or Vom?
Let me know.

Pre-wedding shoots are a huge thing lately, more and more people are sharing pictures from their "engagement shoot" and I think it is a wonderful idea. It really ISN'T about the pictures that are taken, that is just a bonus, it is a chance to spend time with your photographer, see how he or she works, and discuss exactly what you want on your wedding day.
We chose our wedding photographer as soon as we had fixed a date. Good photographers can be booked up for at least a year ahead and we were extremely lucky that the one we wanted was available on our date. Last Saturday we spent some time with Peter and took him to our favourite place and let him snap away as we discussed what sort of style of wedding pictures we wanted.
This is my favourite picture from the shoot.
Seeing this picture makes this bride-to-be very happy indeed.
If you are looking to get married in the next few years, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the photographers work, http://www.rollingsphotography.com and this isn't a sponsored post or a link for a discount, this is a post by a very very very very happy woman.

It is safe to say that I cannot "DO" make-up. Sure, I can cover myself in foundation, slick on some lipstick and put mascara on my lashes but that other stuff? Nope.
That thing you do to make it look as if you have cheek bones? No, I cannot do that. and that white stuff, to highlight bits, I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE WHERE YOU PUT THAT.
I do not even own a lipliner.
I would say that I have the make-up skills of a 14 yr old girl, but those girls have STRONG skills these days. I am in AWE of teenage girls contouring skills. I do not dooooooooo make up.
Therefore, for my big day. I have hired a MUA, and it will be the best money I have ever spent.
Yes, I understand that for some people, hiring someone to do your make up is just not something you can add to the budget. Some people have MAD SKILLS and do not need a MUA, but for me, it is a way of making me feel even more special on my big day.
By hiring a make-up artist for my wedding, I know that my make-up will also last much longer than if I apply it and be a million times better than I could ever do.
Last Saturday I actually had my make up trial and I LOVED the whole look. I actually booked my make up trial for the same day as my pre-wedding shoot with my wedding photographer. Well if I'm going to be having awesome make up on, I might as well get some great shots too, right?
Don't be scared to tell your MUA exactly what you are looking for, and also if you don't like what they have done, ask them to change it. It is your big day, you don't want to be sobbing uncontrollably down the aisle because your lipstick is shit, do you?
Want to see my wedding make-up look?
Originally I had a very nude lip, but it did me no favours so we changed to more of a pink lip, the eyes are quite a glamorous smoky look, with false lashes that I adore but can not do myself.
For me, hiring an MUA was an easy decision, What would you do for your wedding? Or what DID YOU do?
Let me know, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Before taking part in an online "debate" remember that other people may, and will, have different opinions to you. AND THAT'S OK. If we all thought the same way, if we were passionate about the same things or loved the same thing, life would be boring.
There are no more rules. Why not just respect that everyone has differing opinions?

Ok, so today is World Book Day. Schools across the country are encouraging children to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character.
I love books, I love reading, I grew up with my nose ALWAYS in a book and I immersed myself in the world of fiction from a very young age.
But some children don't. Some children will read but never find a love for books, we do now live in an electronic world, some children watch films, some children watch YouTubers, today is a FANTASTIC opportunity to perhaps encourage children to find a book they love. To look around and see their peers discussing books that they have enjoyed, maybe a child dressed up as a character from How To Train Your Dragon will be the spark a small child needs to pick up THAT book.
What children DO NOT NEED, are sneering adults on social media talking about how Where's Wally isn't a REAL book and discussing how SO MANY CHILDREN ARE DRESSED AS FILM CHARACTERS.
Back off. In fact, GO AWAY. Immerse yourself in a book that you enjoy and let children find a way to be inspired by people around them that laugh about the book they have clutched to their chest in the playground, the children that say how the Goosebumps book they are reading gave them nightmares for weeks.
Can't we, just this once, let our children learn from OTHER children and help them to find new books to read, new experiences to enjoy from POSITIVE things?
Stop sneering at children dressed as Minions, these could be the next generation of authors who were inspired by the little yellow demons to create their own book characters.
It's World Book Day, chill out, go read a book or something and let kids lead this one. Just this once.
